This year on Aug. 24 and 25, there were three lucky student officers from Glades Day FFA who attended the Chapter Presidents Conference in Orlando. Peyton Pelham, Leena Bolanos and Camber Pope along with their advisor, Kalyn Hartley, had a blast learning ways they can improve their chapter as they made their “mark” advocating for agriculture.
Throughout that weekend, they attended several workshops where they developed leadership skills to benefit their chapter. Some of the workshops they attended, just to name a few, were: “Inclusion/diversity,” “How to Run a Meeting,” “Community Service” and “Science of Utilizing Social Media.” These workshops prepared them to lead their organization in a positive and impacting way throughout the thrilling year ahead.
Through this and other events, Glades Day FFA is striving to meet the FFA Mission, which states, “FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.”
