Local kids star in ‘Sleeping Beauty’

Join us this Friday, June 10th, when the Missoula Children’s Theatre and more than 35 local students present an original musical adaptation of Sleeping Beauty. Watch as a young princess is put under the spell of a jealous old woman – a spell that puts her to sleep for five hundred years! Sleeping Beauty–a Rock ‘n Roll Fable for the ages. This is definitely no sleeper!

Playing the title characters, Sleeping Beauty 1 and 2, are local students Erin Webb and Christmie Nicolas. Scarella is played by Cierra Cox, Keydron Josey takes on the role of King, Jessica Posey as Queen, Mia Elrod as Lady in Waiting and Spot will be played by Catherine Vazquezas. Appearing as Trolls will be Dakota Ali, Brandon Bright, Dylan Gilde, Conner Harper, Kenan Smith and Keyshon Ward. Carly Bair, Shadajah Bush, Shakeira Bush, Loranna Crawford, Terryn Horton, Alana Morris, Maria Muniz and Abigail Slonaker are cast as the Fairies and the Town Crier will be Madison Alford. Performing as Palace Attendants are America Alverez, Halie Bankhead, Gillian Barton, Bronson Blevins, Shamiah Bush, Tmyah Collins, Jaylin Hernandez, Brenna Holcomb, Miley Holcomb, Richard Larkie, Carmen Perez, Ashley Sanchez and Brooklyn Wilde, while Gabriella Planitario, Isabella Planitario, Samantha Ross, Adrianna Slonaker, Nathan Webb and Bryce Williams will appear as Caterpillers.

Shadell Bush and Shelby Murray have served as Assistant Directors throughout the week. Tour Actor/Directors Taylor Ann Krahn will also be the Jester and Tour Actor/Director Jas Spencer will serve as the show’s director. Karen Corbin Wheeler will be serving as the Accompanist.

Sleeping Beauty will be presented at Noon and 7:00 pm at the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center at Palm Beach State College in Belle Glade, 1977 College Drive. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children (age 3 – 12th grade) and are available at the box office and at the door.

Missoula Children’s Theatre is a non-profit organization based in Missoula, Montana. This coming year, nearly 50,000 cast members across the globe, will take to the stage to the delight and applause of their families, friends, community, neighbors and teachers!
