LORE to host “Is Homeownership for Me?” workshop

BELLE GLADE — LORE (Lake Okeechobee Regional Economic Alliance will host “Is Homeownership for Me?” housing workshop on Thursday, April 12 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Belle Glade Library Civic Center, 725 NW 4th St. in Belle Glade.

Participants will gain a basic understanding of renting vs buying, local programs available to homebuyers and the criteria to qualify for these programs, pre-approval vs. pre-qualification, types of loans available, expenses to expect when buying a home, and where to find assistance, benefits of hurricane reinforcements and insurance. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet with housing agencies, banks, and insurance companies, to discuss their specific situation.
