The new Palm Beach County Administrator, Verdenia Baker, is scheduled to visit the Glades area for a Meet and Greet on Sept. 14.

Baker made history back in May when she became the first woman selected to serve as county administrator. She is also the first black county administrator to serve in the county’s history.

Baker was selected by the Palm Beach County Commission in May and assumed her role as county administrator in August, after former county administrator Robert Weisman retired.

The public is invited to the meet and greet being held at the Pahokee Marina from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. this Tuesday. The event is hosted by the Concerned Citizens of South Bay Florida, Inc. There will be food, refreshments and entertainment for everyone to enjoy.
