Pahokee native wins National Black Arts Festival Award

Martine Beauvais, a Pahokee native, was announced as a winner of the National Black Arts Festival (NBAF) Award, presented by Neiman Marcus, for her fashion design talents on March 16 at their Fine Art and Fashion event at Neiman Marcus in Atlanta. As part of the award, Martine will receive a $3,000 scholarship and have her designs included in a window display at Neiman Marcus. Three competitive awards were given to fashion students from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Martine is currently a senior at SCAD, working toward her B.F.A. in fashion.
