The Iota Omicron Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. recently concluded their extremely busy year of service to the community with a Sisterhood Tea. The Chantilly Tea served as a way to bring the chapter together to celebrate and reflect on the year’s many accomplishments, as well as prepare for the upcoming year of service. Led by Chapter Basilus Lawanda Harper, the sorority provided more than $10,000 in scholarships to deserving graduates at Glades-area high schools, and participated in various events to promote the organization’s social action initiatives. Founded in 1920 on the campus of Howard University, the Iota Omicron Zeta Chapter was chartered in 1979 in Belle Glade. More than $100,000 in scholarships have been awarded to high school students in the Tri-City area and beyond.
