C4OPE forum set July 12
Project C4OPE invites the public to a free meeting on Thursday, July 12 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Lakeside Medical Center, 39200 Hooker Highway in Belle Glade. This gives individuals the opportunity to express their needs and wants around the topic of opioid overdose. Back 2 School Bash
The City of South Bay invites the public to Clive Walford Day – Kids Fest and second annual Neighborhood BBQ on Saturday, July 14, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Tanner Park, 105 Palm Beach Road in South Bay. The event features a 3-on-3 Tournament, prizes, shirt and backpack giveaways, autograph signing, health screenings, haircuts and free food. Proof of residency required for South Bay residents. Share your talent
Teens and adults can share their talents with the community on Wednesday, July 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Loula V. York Branch Library, 525 Bacom Point Road in Pahokee Each participant will have five minutes to sing, play an instrument, read a poem or short story, etc. Preregister by July 20. Quantum deadline July 27
The Quantum Foundation is now taking applications for its “Quantum in the Community” program where the organization will give away $750,000 to grass-roots charities in Palm Beach County, including Belle Glade, which provide basic needs such as food, clothing, shelter and transportation to the county’s most vulnerable residents. The application deadline is Friday, July 27, at 5 p.m., and the money will be given away at a celebratory breakfast in the fall.
