County Mayor McKinlay to host Small Business Outreach event June 13

BELLE GLADE — The public is invited to an outreach event hosted by Palm Beach County Mayor Melissa McKinlay on Wednesday, June 13, 5:30 p.m., at the Belle Glade Library and Civic Center.

The guest speaker will be Ashley Daniel Bell, Esq., Regional Administrator with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Bell was appointed by the White House in February to be head of Region IV, which serves nine districts covering eight southeastern states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. As administrator, he oversees more than $5 billion in SBA-backed lending.

A small business owner and entrepreneur since the age of 22, Bell is committed to the SBA’s mission to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small businesses, to preserve free competitive enterprise and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation.

Bell will be joined by Tonya Davis Johnson, Director of Palm Beach County’s Office of Small Business Assistance.

This outreach event is an opportunity to learn what resources are available to small business owners in Palm Beach County, and to share how the SBA’s Rural Initiative can help support small businesses in rural communities.

The Belle Glade Library and Civic Center is located at 725 NW 4th St. in Belle Glade.
