Diabetes Health Fair scheduled for Nov. 3 in Pahokee

PAHOKEE — Following two successful Diabetes Health Fair Initiatives in Belle Glade, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is bringing the popular information event to Pahokee. The Diabetes Health Fair is free to the public and will be held in Pahokee High School’s gymnasium on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local residents who have diabetes or whose family members or friends may have the ailment are asked to come out to this vital event and learn how to manage diabetes and improve their quality of life.

Health care professionals with expertise in the multi-faceted disease will present information helpful to a diverse population. Among the varied sessions delivering vital information to attendees will be lectures concerning important health topics, diabetes screening, health resources and tools, food demonstrations, food giveaways, the Florida Mobile 3D mammography and question-and-answer sessions for all areas. Door prizes, tickets to the Muck Bowl game, health tools and gift cards for groceries, pharmaceuticals and more will be awarded to attendees and participants throughout the Health Fair’s time of operation.
