Early morning accident claims life on Pratt Whitney Road

PALM BEACH COUNTY – On Monday, Dec. 19, at 9 a.m. Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and EMT crews responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle near the 4000 block of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road.

First arriving crews reported this was not a pedestrian accident but a piece of construction equipment that had fallen in a body of water and the driver could not be found. Fire rescue divers were deployed into the water and after an exhaustive search they located the victim.

The victim was transported to Palms West Hospital and pronounced deceased upon arrival.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division and Crime Scene Investigators are on scene investigating this accidental death further.
