Gulfstream Goodwill plans to relocate to Glades Plaza

BELLE GLADE — Founded with the mission of “Changing Lives through Employment, Training and Education,” Gulfstream Goodwill Industries has secured a new lease at Glades Plaza in Belle Glade, allowing them to expand their store footprint and better serve their customers and employees. Having been in their previous location since 1981, Goodwill approached Colliers International’s Senior Vice President Honey Bryan to work closely with the organization’s Executive Board to negotiate and execute a suitable relocation.

As listing broker for Glades Plaza at 541 S.W. 16th St., Honey Bryan represented both the tenant and the landlord in this transaction. Goodwill’s ±11,616-square-foot relocation was a perfect fit for both parties. The location suited the tenant’s needs in terms of size, configuration, parking, accessibility and visibility. The previous tenant had recently vacated the anchor space, leaving the large vacancy available immediately for Goodwill’s relocation at the end of their lease. With only three months to find and move into a new location, Colliers’ Honey Bryan had to fast track the transaction to allow enough time to get the lease negotiated, then approved by the Executive Board and finally signed. Given a 30-day deadline for delivery, the landlord successfully delivered the premises with interior and exterior improvements completed so that tenant could make relocation move and open for business.

“The address of the former Goodwill location was 201 West Avenue A in Belle Glade. That location was inferior to the new location in that it did not have prominent highway frontage, easy access nor an open floor plan for efficient store layout,” Bryan said. “The new location provides all of those additional attributes including prominent pylon signage on main highway and co-tenancy with other national retailers.”

As a non-profit organization, Gulfstream Goodwill Industries’ relocation negotiation required careful assessment and formulation in order to ensure approval by their governing board. “We are so pleased with the efforts of Honey Bryan at Colliers International South Florida LLC”, said Marvin A. Tanck, president and CEO of Gulfstream Goodwill Industries. “Honey expeditiously brought this transaction together without as much as a hiccup. Every real estate transaction between landlords and tenants should have such a competent broker … totally seamless.”

Gulfstream Goodwill Industries is proud to serve the residents of Belle Glade and excited to move into its new location, allowing the organization to better serve the western community.
