Nelson praises grant for airport

PAHOKEE — On July 19, U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, a Florida Democrat, announced the award of a $227,700 federal grant to Palm Beach County Glades Airport located in Pahokee. In addition to serving Palm Beach County through its role as a general aviation airport, this powerhouse provides over $1.97 million in economic impact annually — which is why Sen. Nelson is pleased to announce the award of a $227,700 Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program grant.

These federal funds will be used to install weather reporting equipment at the airport, enhancing its services to the community and its visitors. A hearty congratulations to the Palm Beach Board of County Commissioners and Pahokee for this award and their continued excellent work!
