• If you have not yet seen the video “Unlocking Potential: You can be the key,” where Dr. Avossa met with incarcerated young adults to discuss what lead them to drop out of school and ultimately end up in  jail, don’t miss it. It’s an eye opening piece:

• We’re hiring bus drivers, and a job fair is scheduled for Tuesday, February 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Central Transportation Depot at 3376 Summit Blvd. in West Palm Beach. Interviews will be held on the spot. Transportation Services is looking to hire at least 20 drivers to keep their numbers up and the year going smoothly. They are also looking for drivers for summer school and next school year. Interested candidates can visit for more information. Pay starts at $14/hr. Plus benefits.

• Weight of Words, a very powerful anti-bullying performance returns to Palm Beach County this week for shows Tuesday, February 7 from  6:45 to 8:15 p.m. at Lake Worth High School and Lake Shore Middle School. The performance carries a strong message and serves a call to action to schools and communities to stop bullying. The performance also includes a talk back session after to discuss the issue.  Admission is free, and the show is for ages 12 and up.

• Tuesday, February 7, is a busy day because there is also the “Claim your Future” Showcase at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. In collaboration with the Business Development Board, employers from across Palm Beach County will be showcasing their businesses and career opportunities to hundreds of students from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. Students will be bused in from Choice and Career Academies to take part in the showcase. The complete schedule of sessions is attached.
