PALM BEACH COUNTY — Throughout the month of September, the Palm Beach County Community Services Department (PBCCSD) will host a series of events to engage faith-based organizations in its collective effort and plan to end homelessness in Palm Beach County, educate the community, and improve access to the homeless response system for homeless individuals and families.
Since July 2017, PBCCSD has engaged more than 100 faith-based entities at its quarterly sessions to discuss ways the entities can connect with the Homeless and Housing Alliance to end homelessness for individuals and families throughout Palm Beach County. This month’s events are below:
Collective Impact/Hunger Relief Meeting
Faith-based entities that are interested in distributing food to individuals experiencing homelessness are invited to attend the Collective Impact/Hunger Relief meeting on Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. at the Clayton Hutcheson Exhibit Hall A, located at 559 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach. This effort will help improve coordination with feedings for the homeless throughout the county.
Mobile Showers for Homeless
The St. Anne’s Place will host a meeting for faith-based entities that are interested in placing a mobile shower for the homeless on their property. This meeting will take place on Sept. 25 at 2 p.m. at 2107 N. Dixie Hwy., West Palm Beach. RSVP to Daniel Ramos at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The New Homeless Plan Discussion Session
Faith-based organizations that have attended previous “Each One Reach One” workshops (especially those in southern Palm Beach County) are invited to the action-planning session on Sept. 19 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Palm Beach County Hagen Ranch Road Branch Library located at 14350 Hagen Ranch Road, Delray Beach. This session will further engage representatives in the development of the new homeless plan for Palm Beach County.
