BELLE GLADE — The Palm Beach County Division of Senior Services (DOSS) is planning a low-cost charter-bus trip taking senior citizens on a daytime excursion to visit the South Florida Fair on Monday, Jan. 22.
Departure time from the West County Senior Center in Belle Glade is scheduled at 11 a.m. that day. Return time is 4:30 p.m. The cost is $15, with $10 due upon advance registration and $5 to be paid at the gate on the day of the trip. The deadline to register for participation is Friday, Jan. 12.
A DOSS flier explains that it will be a fun-packed day trip for seniors that will include a wide variety of foods, crafts, a Yesteryear Village visit, a senior health exposition and more. Limited seating is available, so seniors are encouraged to register as soon as possible before the deadline. No refunds will be available.
Lunch items will be available for purchase at the fair. Participants are advised to wear comfortable walking/running shoes as the trip will involve a lot of ambling around outdoors. Anyone who would need personal, one-on-one assistance during the trip will have to register with a personal aide to assist them.
