Story nights to be held
BELLE GLADE — Palm Beach County Library Belled Glade Branch, 725 N.W. Fourth St., will host Black History Month Story Nights on Tuesday, Feb. 5 and Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 6 p.m. Selected story books featuring black characters will be read aloud. Guest readers include, Mary Ross Wilkerson and City of Belle Glade vice mayor. All ages welcome.

Super Bowl event set
BELLE GLADE — On Sunday, Feb. 3, at 4 p.m. there will be a free event for adults 55 and over to watch the Super Bowl. Light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages will be served and you must provide transportation. Preregistration is required. Legislative Delegation public hearing set

Bingo to benefit students
PAHOKEE — Residents are invited to “Designer Bags and Bingo” on Saturday, Jan. 26, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Town Center Cafe, 129 N. Lake Ave., to play bingo and have a chance to win designer bags. Proceeds will benefit scholarships for Glades area students and service projects for Boldin Community Impact.

GED program to be held

Pahokee to hold MLK parade
PAHOKEE — The City of Pahokee’s 2019 Martin Luther King Parade & Extravaganza will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. and the Extravaganza will follow the parade from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Events will include performances from local artists and student performers from Canal Point, Pahokee Middle and High School.

MLK banquet set
BELLE GLADE — A Martin Luther King Jr. Banquet will be held at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 600 S.W. Eighth St., on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 6:30 p.m. Gospel recording artist, Pastor Marvin Sapp, will be guest speaker. Tickets are $25 each and you can see any member of the Glades Area Ministerial Alliance for purchases or information.

BELLE GLADE — Birth to 22: United for Brighter Futures wants to ensure that all of its young people have the chance to thrive as children and succeed as adults.
