YOUR Government Watch

These upcoming meetings of local elected officials, scheduled during the next several weeks, are open to the public. As voters, YOU the public employ these people, and they’re spending the tax dollars that you pay them for your municipal services. At these meetings, they decide how, when and where to do so, and what will be done, and YOU have the right to be heard.

Belle Glade – next City Commission meeting Monday, Sept. 17; workshop at 6 p.m., regular meeting at 6:30.

Pahokee – The City Commission will meet Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m. for a workshop and 6:30 p.m. for its regular meeting in the Council Chamber at the City Parks and Recreation Building, 115 E. Main St. in Pahokee. Printed copies of the meeting agenda will be available on a table at the rear of the room, and it usually is posted on the city’s website, www.cityofpahokee.com, by the day before the meeting. From the home page, click on “Meetings & Agendas,” then use the slide-over menu under “Agendas” to navigate to the current meeting date. Backup material is available in the “Agenda Packet” files, and all are in downloadable PDF format.

South Bay – next City Commission meeting Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m.
