Belle Glade man dies in single vehicle crash

GLADES COUNTY – A Belle Glade man died Monday, Nov. 19 in an auto accident in Glades County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol Report, Deminke Shantel Hall, 24, was travelling north on U.S. 27 in a 2008 Ford F250 at 10:17 a.m., when the truck exited the roadway in an easterly direction into the grassy center median. The driver over-corrected in a southwesterly direction, re-entered U.S. 27, and cross over the southbound lanes.

The truck then entered the west grass shoulder of US 27. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which re-entered the southbound lanes of U.S. 27, overturned and ejected the driver onto the roadway. The truck came to a final rest in the outside southbound lane of U.S. 27. The drier was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

A passenger in the vehicle, Deminke Joshua Hall, 18, of Pahokee, was transported by Glades County EMS to Hendry Regional Medical Center.

According to the FHP report, neither the driver nor the passenger wore a seat belt.
