Fire rescue responds two Glades fires

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue is investigating two fires in Belle Glade today, according to Albert Borroto, public information officer. The first fire was reported at 12:18 a.m.

Crews responded to reports of a fire on the 1000 block of West Canal Street in Belle Glade. First arriving crews reported a fully engulfed mobile home.

Neighbors stated that the home was an unoccupied home and nobody was inside. Firefighters made an aggressive fire attack and contained this fire to the home of origin, preventing fire spread to nearby homes.

There were no reported injuries or need for Red Cross. The cause of this fire is under investigation.

The second fire happened at 11 a.m. Crews responded to reports of a fire on the 20 block of Davis Street in Belle Glade. First arriving crews reported smoke from the front door of a residence and occupants outside the home.

Firefighters entered the home and quickly located a fire in the kitchen area, extinguishing it. At this time overhaul and ventilation operations are being done.

There are no reported injuries.

Red Cross has been contacted to assist two adults and four children displaced by this fire.

No official information yet on how the fires started, as investigations into the two incidents continue.
