Human remains found in cane field?

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of what may be human remains outside of Belle Glade this week.

According to Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Media Relations Director Teri Barbera, the find was made shortly after 8 a.m., approximately two miles northeast of Hooker Highway and State Road 715, in an area near a mobile home park north of Belle Glade.

Information released to the public reveals that a call of possible human remains located at the edge of a cane field was made, which alerted the sheriff’s office.

At this time, the sheriff’s office does not know the ethnicity or the gender of the remains, and detectives and crime scene investigators are expected to continue investigating the identity of the remains, as well as the cause of death.

With so little information, the sheriff’s office is unable to say whether or not it believes foul play is suspected.
