Man killed in Pahokee shooting

PAHOKEE — According to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) press release deputies responded to shots fired at Ivy Lane and South Lake Avenue in Pahokee at approximately 1:33 a.m. on Jan. 21. Upon arrival deputies found what appeared to be a crime scene.

After further investigation deputies learned that a shooting occurred at this location and the victim, Anthony Martin, was transported by friend(s) to Lakeside Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

It was reported that after further investigation detectives determined Taraus McKinley, 29, to be the suspect that shot the victim, Anthony Martin, 34.

McKinley will attend his first appearance on Jan. 22.
