A Belle Glade man was recently charged with a charge of written threat to kill or do bodily injury to a woman after she reportedly rejected his advances.
The woman, who is actually the suspect’s ex-wife, said the man left several threatening text and voice messages on her phone. Showing the phone and the messages to deputies, the woman proved that the messages, traced back to the suspect’s phone number, were aggressive.
“The victim stated the suspect called and text messaged her at approximately 20:30 hours, and told her he was going to kill her after she refused to have sex with him,” wrote the detective in his report. “The victim sent several text messages throughout the night in which he stated she was going to die tonight and he was going to kill her.”
Since separating from his ex-wife, the suspect has been homeless, according to the report. The two have two children in common. One of the victim’s major concerns was the fact that the suspect had been affiliated with the Latin Kings. She said his behavior could be unpredictable.
The man was arrested on September 17 and taken to the West Detention Center, where he remains incarcerated on a $1 million bond.
