PBSO identifies body of man found in sugar cane field

CANAL POINT — The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has identified the body of a man found by U.S. Sugar workers in a cane field on Aug. 16 as that of Jose Enrigue Castro.

U.S. Sugar workers working in the fields off Conners Highway and Muck City Road found the body Tuesday. PBSO deputies, Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to investigate.

The case has been classified as a murder, according to the PBSO press release. The field is within the unincorporated Canal Point area.
