PBSO is investigating an accident death

SOUTH BAY — A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) press release stated that deputies responded to Okeelanta Sugar Mill, located at 21250 S. U.S. Highway 27 in South Bay, in reference to an accidental death at approximately 9:44 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2.

Rene Trujillo, 81, of Canal Point, was struck by the tires of a pay loader. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division and crime scene investigators arrived on scene to investigate further. No foul play is suspected.

Mr. Trujillo was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy is scheduled to determine his exact cause of death.
