PBSO seeking public’s assistance identifying victim found in a Belle Glade canal

BELLE GLADE — PBSO detectives are seeking the public’s assistance with identifying a victim found floating in a canal in the 33000 block of Gator Blvd in Belle Glade. The victim, has yet to be identified, had distinctive tattoos on his hands.

A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) press release stated that a sugar company worker found what appeared to be a body floating in a canal in the 33000 block of Gator Blvd in Belle Glade on Wednesday, Jan. 24 shortly before 4 p.m.

Deputies, detectives, crime scene investigators, marine unit deputies and medical examiners personnel responded to the scene to investigate further. Upon further investigation it appeared the body was of a Hispanic male and it appears he is the victim of a homicide. His identity was unknown at the time of the press release.

Detectives are in the preliminary stages of this investigation. The motive of the homicide and/or suspect information was unknown at the time of the press release.
