Suspect arrested in Pahokee shooting

PAHOKEE — A shooting occurred on Friday morning, Nov. 2, in Pahokee, and a suspect is in custody.

A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office press release stated that deputies responded to a shooting in the 400 block of Royal Palm Court in Pahokee at 8:28 a.m. Friday. Another news release hours later stated that upon the deputies’ arrival, they located a male deceased from gunshot wounds.

Preliminary information was that two individuals known to each other, both adult men, were involved in an altercation that led to one shooting the other.

The suspect was identified as Lee Edward Jones, 20, of Pahokee. He was arrested on Nov. 2 and transported to the West County Jail on charges of first-degree murder with a firearm and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
