Suspect named in July 25 attempted murder

BELLE GLADE — The suspect of the July 25 shooting in Belle Glade has been found.

On July 25, just before 7 p.m., deputies responded to a shooting that occurred in the area of SW 6th Street and SW Avenue D, Belle Glade.

Upon arrival deputies located a male with a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment. The investigation determined, at that time, that a male suspect walked up and shot the victim. The motive was unknown.

Further investigation led to the identity of the suspect, Jimmy Porter, Jr.

Porter, Jr. was located on Aug. 3 and transported to the Palm Beach County Jail where he was booked on charges of Attempted First Degree Murder with a Firearm, bond is none.

Porter, Jr., will be attending first appearance on Aug. 4.
