Teen charged with DUI manslaughter

BELLE GLADE — On May 2, Juan Carols Hernandez-Guillen, was taken into custody without incident by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for an automobile accident that happened on January 29.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office on January 29 at 3:03 p.m. Juan Hernandez-Guillen, 17, of Belle Glade, was driving a 2006 Ford F250 and was traveling northbound on State Road 715 and drifted over the center line into the southbound lanes and collided head-on into the front of a 1989 GMC S150 truck driven by Genero Ortiz, 60, of Belle Glade.

Mr. Ortiz was pronounced dead on the scene.

Hernandez-Guillen was charged with DUI Manslaughter, DUI serious bodily injury and DUI property damage. He was booked into the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Jail in Belle Glade.
