BELLE GLADE — The University of Florida offer Florida Rice Growers Training on Tuesday, Feb. 21, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Everglades Research and Education Center located at 3200 E. Palm Beach Road, Belle Glade.

• 09:50 – 10:10 a.m.: Rice nutritional research in Florida with Mabry McCray

• 10:15 – 10:35 a.m.:  Weed control with Jose Fernandez

• 10:40 – 11 a.m.: Have you seen this rice borer? with Julien Beuzelin

• 11:05 – 11:25 a.m.: Insects in Florida rice with Ron Cherry

• 11:30 a.m. – noon: Lunch

• Noon – 12:20 p.m.: Water management with Jehangir Bhadha

• 12:30 – 12:50 p.m.: Bird damage with Rena Borkhateria

• 12:55 – 13:15 p.m.: Rice varieties with Matthew VanWeelden
