WEST PALM BEACH – The School District of Palm Beach County’s annual Historically Black College-University and Hispanic Serving Institution (HBCU/HSI) Recruitment Tour is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 24 and Wednesday, Jan. 25 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
Representatives from the institutions will be onsite to interview college-ready seniors, and are prepared to offer acceptance letters and scholarship offers on the spot. Scholarship offers during last year’s tour totaled more than $5.1 million.
“It is very exciting to see that this tour helps to ensure that these students will be able to attend and graduate from college,” said Eunice Vivar, the District’s High School Counseling Program Planner and one of the Recruitment Tour organizers. “These offers of admissions and scholarships hold the promise of a successful future for our students.”
Students from across the District will be transported from their schools to the Convention Center to meet with HBCU/HSI representatives for consideration each day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Parents and students are invited to attend and speak with representatives from the schools, as well as financial aid/FAFSA representatives, on Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Students should dress professionally and bring at least three copies of their transcripts for immediate consideration.
