Palm Beach County School District School News for week of March 20

• Schools are closed Monday, March  20, through Friday, March 24, with students returning to class on March 27. If students or parents want to prevent any learning losses over the break, we have educational activities available online, including SAT practice and reading, math and science lessons. https://www.palmbeachschools.org/districtnews/2017/03/15/optional-spring-break-k-12-educational-activities-available-for-students/

• Prom Dress Giveaway on Saturday, March 18, from noon to 3 p.m. there will be a prom dress giveaway at 1804 N. Dixie Highway Suite A-4 in West Palm Beach. Student IDs are required. They are also seeking donations of dresses, shoes, perfume and costume jewelry. This is not a District-sponsored event but a very nice cause to help these young ladies.

• Jump Rope for Heart: Many of our schools have hosted Jump Rope for Heart to benefit the American Heart Association. Dr. Avossa and Dr. Christiansen even got in on the fun. Thousands of dollars are being raised at our schools. In particular, Addison Mizner ES raised $16K with their event on March 16.
