Public viewing scheduled for instructional materials

WEST PALM BEACH – The Instructional Materials Department has scheduled a public viewing of 10 textbooks chosen by adoption committees for 6-12 Social Studies courses. Student Editions from both companies that were finalists chosen by review committees were made available for public review online and in print at our School District support center from July 12, 2016 – January 31, 2017.

These 10 textbooks recommended for district adoption were made available beginning February 20, 2017 and runs through March 15, 2017 in both print and digital formats for anyone interested in reviewing these textbooks.

Florida Statute 1006.283 requires school districts to give access to student editions to be viewed online by the public at least 20 calendar days before an open, noticed school board hearing in order to receive public comment on the recommended instructional materials. The School District understands that community input is vital to the success of choosing the best possible instructional materials for our students and teachers. The next school board meeting is scheduled for March 15.

Materials can be accessed online by going to: and input the Username: PBGeo and Password: PBGeo1.
