On Wednesday, Feb. 28, Rosenwald Elementary School (RES) teachers, staff and students participated in Anti-Bullying Awareness Day, an SDPBC and Literacy Coalition of PBC initiative. Everyone wore pink shirts to support anti-bullying awareness in schools.
The theme for this year was “Many, Cultures, One Community!” Students were greeted by South Bay City Commission members, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, teachers and staff as they entered campus for a high-five against bullying. Students also watched an anti-bullying skit created by RES students. Finally, students rotated through stations for the Sea of Pink photo booth, arts and crafts for bullying awareness, an anti-bullying video and Sea of Pink group photos.
Kudos to the mayor of South Bay; city manager; city clerk; PBC Fire Rescue; Nancy Birardi, Turning Bullies into Buddies Program manager; Megan Bob, director of education and family literacy for the Literacy Coalition; Taranza McKelvin, school guidance counselor; and Serena Brockman, ESOL contact; for all working to make this event a huge success at Rosenwald Elementary School.
Kudos to all parents who participated in the kindergarten through fifth grades parent workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Rosenwald Elementary School. Parents completed math-reading-science rotations during this very important event.
