School Board approves calendar change, no school on Primary Election Day

PALM BEACH COUNTY — Palm Beach County schools will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 28, after the School Board approved a revision to the 2018-2019 school calendar.

August 28 is Primary Election Day in Florida, and many School District of Palm Beach County schools are used as polling places. The School Board proposed the change following discussions with Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections, Susan Bucher.

Students will not have classes on Aug. 28, but the day will be a Professional Development Day (PDD) for teachers and a regular work day for all other School District employees. District administrative offices will be open. Click here to view the revised school calendar for the 2018-2019 school year.
