Glades Day ends football season defeating Marathon Dolphins


BELLE GLADE – Glades Day (6-4) wrapped up their season with an impressive 56-20 victory over Marathon on Friday, Nov. 4, night.

Glades Day raced to a 35-6 halftime lead after they spotted the Dolphins a six point lead in the first quarter.

Alex Mineo threw five touchdown passes as he completed (10-16 for 227 yards) a career high.

Christian Ellison ended his Glades Day career with three touchdown receptions. Ellison caught two first quarter touchdowns, of 22 yards and nine yards, and a third quarter touchdown pass that covered 43 yards. Ellison had 117 yards in receptions for the Gators.

Markens Pierre ran for 60 yards and a 40 yard touchdown, Cross Onega ran for 48 yards, and Anthony McPhee and AJ Johnson caught touchdown passes for the Gators.


London Bish ran for 103 yards and a touchdown for Marathon. Roberto Garces caught a 44 yard touchdown pass in the first quarter from Jackson McDonald for the Dolphins. Roberto Garces ran for a touchdown in the fourth quarter for Marathon (3-7).

Glades Day had 434 yards in total offense. McPhee also threw a touchdown pass for the Gators.

Yasser Halum scored his first varsity touchdown for the Gators in the fourth quarter.
