BELLE GLADE – The Glades Day Middle School volleyball team opened up the season Aug. 30 with an impressive win over LaBelle Middle School.
The A team won 25-10 and 27-25. The B team of younger girls won 25-16 and 25-21.
Glades Day Middle School coach Jamie Redish said she is excited about what the teams can accomplish this season.
“The girls have been working really hard this season. We work really hard on fundamental passes and overhand serves because both are very important at this level of play,” said the coach.
The teams consist of sixth and seventh graders. Seven girls return from last year’s teams.
“They are a young squad and it will be fun to watch them grow. If they continue to work as hard as they have been they will be a powerful team in the upcoming years,” she added.
