Pahokee cross country athletes go to regional

PAHOKEE – Three Pahokee athletes were able to qualify this year for the regional cross country meet hosted by Holy Trinity Academy in Melbourne last Saturday, Oct. 29.

Gustavo Guzman had a personal best time of 18:41 to finish in 39th place in the boys race. Chase Hyland of the Pine School was the regional champion with a finish of 16:15.60. Mount Dora Christian Academy was the regional champion this year. There where 112 boys who competed in the race.

Antwanique Kinsler of Pahokee finished 59th and Bre’yanna Banks finished in 64th place in the girls race. Kinsler finished in 24:24. Banks finished the race in 25:23, her personal best.

The regional champion was Samantha Folio of Holy Trinity Academy with a finish of 19:11.80. Circle Christian School was the regional champ.

The state finals are held in Tallahassee on Saturday, Nov. 5.
