PAHOKEE – Pahokee continued a march toward their goal of a perfect season and state championship with a 17-14 victory Friday, Sept. 30, at previously unbeaten Boca Raton.

Pahokee did it with defense as they held the Bobcats to only 159 total yards.

Rodney McKay continued his strong season as he rushed for 113 yards and a three yard touchdown in the second quarter for the Blue Devils (6-0). Pahokee also got a 42 yard field goal from Ezekiel Hernandez. A quarterback keeper by Tyrone Smith was the winning points. Smith completed five passes on the game winning drive.

The game was marred by several lightning delays that pushed back the kickoff.

Stanley Bullard had scored on an eight yard touchdown run for Boca Raton, who fell to (5-1). Quarterback Brandon Norman added a one yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Kajuanji Boldin and Deontrae Hampton had interceptions for the Pahokee defense.

This week the Blue Devils have a bye week. They return to action on Friday, Oct. 14, when they host District 1A-8 opponent Frostproof.
