The team of Clyana Ward, Lon’Teria McFadden, Asia Wilson and Antwanique Kinsler finished the race in 4:00.07. Alternate on the team was Br’nijah Williams.
The girls 4×100 meter relay team finished in second place. Members include McFadden, Ward, Kinsler and Wilson.
Kinsler finished fourth with a personal best time of 57.74 in the 400 meters and McFadden finished in seventh place in the 200 meters. The Lady Blue Devils finished seventh out of 56 teams represented at the state finals.
Coach John Ford said he was very proud of how hard the girls worked this season and congratulated them on their success.
The boys were able to finish in seventh place in the 4×400 meter relay. The relay members include Cobe Pate, Deante Nelson, Jessie Hill and John Charles.
The 4×100 meter relay squad finished in second place behind Jatarie Washington, Tevaris Powell, Leroy Love and Lavonski Williams.
Nelson finished fourth in the 400 meters, and Powell finished eighth in the 200 meters. The Blue Devils finished 12th out of 57 teams at the state finals.
Glades Central’s 4×100 meter relay team finished ninth in the preliminaries in 49.21.
De’Markus Johnson finished sixth in the 400 meter dash preliminaries at 49.42 seconds, and fifth in the finals with a time of 49.57 seconds.
The boys 4×400 meter relay managed a sixth place finish in 3:20.37 and Ra’heem Alford took ninth in the high jump finals with a leap of 1.8 meters.
Antarus Johnson of Glades Day finished sixth in the 110 meter hurdle preliminaries in a time of 15.85 seconds, sixth in the 110 meter hurdle finals at 16.02 seconds, and 13th in the triple jump at 12.47 meters.
