Pahokee track team competes in Suncoast Chargers Invite

PAHOKEE — The Pahokee Blue Devils finished third in the womens’ track meet and second in the boys’ meet at the Suncoast Chargers Invitational held March 8.

Top performers included Asia Wilson who finished second in the 100 meter dash at 12.86 seconds, Antwanique Kinsler who won the 400 meters in 59.78 seconds, and Clyana Ward who took third place in the 400 meters at 1:01.95. Wilson also took third in the 200 meters with a time of 27:09.

The 4×100, and 4×400 meter relay teams were victorious while the womens 4×800 meter relay took third place.

In the field events, Lon’teria McFadden finished third in the high jump with a recorded jump of 4’10”. Ward finished fifth in the long jump with a distance of 15’5”.

Other highlights included a fifth place finish by Ta’Kaya Washington in the 200 meters. Washington also finished sixth in the 100 meters.

On the boys side, Tyler Gilbert won the high jump with a leap of six feet even. Bryan Crawford won the discus toss with a distance of 119’7” and the shot put with a distance of 43 feet.

Lavonski Williams finished fifth in the 100 meters at 11.62, Tevaris Powell finished seventh in the 100 meters at 11.73, Powell added a sixth place finish in the 200 meters at 23.79, John Charles took third place in the 400 meters in 51.86, Cobe Pate finished eighth in the 400 meters at 53.15 and Jessie Hill finished ninth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:14.42.

Gustavo Guzman finished fifth in the 1600 meters at 5:04.06, and fourth in the 3200 meters in a time of 10:56.14. Gilbert finished second in the 300 meter hurdles in 44.10. The 4×100 meter relay finished third, and the mens 4×400 and 4×800 meter relay teams finished second.

Gilbert added a fifth place finish in the mens long jump at 19’2.5”, John Charles finished fifth in the high jump at 5’6” and seventh in the long jump at 19’1”. Tyron Arnett finished fourth in the triple jump at 38’4”.
