PAHOKEE – Pahokee stepped up in class on Sept. 1, when they travelled to take on 8A school Royal Palm Beach in high school volleyball.
The Lady Wildcats (4-0) behind the solid play of Miranda Hill took charge early and rolled past the Lady Blue Devils, 25-8, 25-2 and 25-9.
Pahokee Coach Edward Erhardt said he didn’t think the ladies played up to their potential in this game. “I’m not sure what the problem was but the girls were horrible for the lack of a better term.”
Erhardt said the Pahokee girl’s just didn’t play up to their usual standard and he wasn’t all that impressed with how Royal Palm Beach played either.
“When you know how well they can play and then you see something like that, it really leaves you with a loss for words,’ he added.
Coach Erhardt said the girls will continue to work and he hopes they come back with a different effort next week when they take on arch-rival Glades Central.
“I hope they get their minds right against Glades Central but I honestly don’t know what to expect,” he added.
Pahokee travelled to Belle Glade on Tuesday, Sept. 6, to play the Lady Raiders.
There was no junior varsity game played.
